 Mom & Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary

It was an interesting day trying to keep Mom in the dark about our surprise celebration plans... Lori & Linda spent the day putting together the cutest little memory book for Mom, Chelsea picked up the cake, Trev & my boys picked up balloons, while I got the flowers for the grave & for Mom.

Then it came time to get Mom to the cemetery where everyone was waiting for us... in 117 degree weather! I tried to get her to let me drive, but she wanted to.  Of course she didn't take the freeway, cause thats just not her thing.  So we took the scenic route, on the side roads, past the Fairfield house... all the while I was texting Lori & Treven apologizing that it was taking so long and that they were dying in the heat! I thought poor prego Lori was gonna have a heat stroke!

Finally we arrived, and Mom was pleasantly surprised to see Lori's family, Linda's family, my family, Chelsea & last but not least... her BFF Louise!

Trev had picked up 20 gold (for the golden anniversary) balloons for everyone to write a message to Dad/Grandpa on.  Such sweet messages they were.

What a fun surprise!

We put new flowers on Dad's headstone!

Moms sweet message for her Honey!

We launched our balloons & watched them for as long as we could see them!
Then we headed to Mi Amigos for a yummy dinner!

So glad Louise was able to join us!  Such a sweet friend!

Yummy dessert!

Flowers for Mom!
Red roses & white carnations to match her wedding bouquet!

What a fun day it was to celebrate the best parents in the world!
